The Legendary Coffee cream Pie

Serves: 6-8 | Preparation time: 20 minutes + a few hours/overnight in fridge | Cooking Time: N/A | Level: Beginner

 

Ingredients

227g Mascarpone

200mL Heavy Cream

100g Granulated Sugar

2 Egg Yolks

1 teaspoon Espresso Powder

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 frozen pie crust

Chocolate of choice (easier if you get a block)

 

Steps

Step 1
Fork some holes in the base of your pie crust, then bake it per package instructions

Step 2
Mix heavy cream and espresso powder until nicely mixed together

Step 3
Separate 2 egg yolks, then add them + sugar + until it’s nicely mixed together; then add in mascarpone until soft peaks form - about 6-8 minutes

Step 4
Grate as much chocolate flakes as you’d like, then after the pie crust has cooled, add your filling + chocolate flakes, making sure to leave enough to cover the top

Step 5
Leave the pie in the fridge for at least a few hours, overnight is recommended

 

Common Pitfalls:

Your filling can sometimes be more runny than anticipated, it helps to leave a few hours to overnight in the fridge to fix this
